Family Holiday

Just prior to my father‘s diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease and then Louis body dementia. He and my mother went on a holiday to China to visit my brother and his family. I gave my father, my small CANON IXUS camera to use.

Upon their return to Australia, I can remember looking at the images and feeling slightly underwhelmed with what he made. The photos ended up being forgotten. Over a decade later and after my dad‘s death my mum sold the family home to live in a retirement village. Went unpacking their home. She found the camera and charger. Viewing these images now after living through a decade of dads Dementia until his death, these images take on a whole new light.
