Overwhelmed and depressed

I recently visited Singapore with three girlfriends and we organised to stay on Bintan island Indonesia for two nights. It was weirdest experience as we were pretty much the only people at the resort. It was monsoon season I guess, but I do think Covid has had a huge impact too.

The weather was atrocious sadly but we took our cameras out and walked along the beach at the resort and this gallery below is what we saw.

Plastic, plastic plastic and the sand was covered in oil sludge too.

Soooooo overwhelmed with the sheer scale of the rubbish and that there does not seem to be any infrastructure to cope with it. Huge multinationals who make, sell and distribute plastic have much to answer for, as do governments who do not legislate against polluters or create infrastructure to deal with it.

I picked up some of the rubbish and made images of it in our hotel room. How would we like to live with plastic surrounding us?
