#everydayclimatecrisis
A Visual Petition to the Australian Parliament
This was a call out to all women and non-binary people of Australia to create images about Australia's climate crisis, in your local area and country-wide between Jan 2021 and May 2022..
Images include literal depictions of the effects of climate change, that is,
1: Images of the effects Climate Change; drought, floods, fires, pollution, land degradation, non-regenerative farming, land and coastal erosion, coal mining, fracking, logging of old growth forests…
OR
2: Images of Hope; beautiful pristine landscapes and seascapes, Cultural practices to restore and regenerate, renewable energy, organic growing, bio-dynamics, people doing little things to help mitigate the effects of Climate Change: growing food, community gardens, regenerative farming, eating local produce, recycling and up-cycling clothes etc...
OR conceptual, in that you can submit
3: Images that creatively respond to the theme
Each photographer retained copyright. Many of the images submitted were phone photos.
The images were printed, handed over to the Member for Canberra Alicia Payne MP at the Australian Parliament in Canberra in June. Once the 47th Parliament sat on in July, MP Payne then tabled the Petition on the 28th July in the House Of Representatives.
